SMOKEY – ADOPTED !!

UPDATE – SMOKEY was surrendered back to HOPE due to an older cat in the house bullying him to the point he was so stressed out that he was urinating on stuff and they felt that it was not fair for him to be in constant distress. He would prefer a quieter home but we were told he did get along with the other cats in the home as well as a small dog!

This big handsome guy is SMOKEY, a 3 year old male cat that was brought to HOPE after his owner sadly passed away. SMOKEY adjusted pretty quickly to shelter life and his new caretakers. He is a friendly, affectionate and mellow cat. While he does love pets and attention he doesn’t love being picked up but that may change over time when he gets a little more used to new people. It may also just be because he knows that he’s going back into his kennel when that happens and he would rather proudly roam the hallways. So far, the only cat he was not a fan of was an unaltered male cat but his new neighbor is a much younger male cat and he seems just fine with him! With that being said, we believe he would do well with cats, calmer children but dogs are still an unknown at this time.
