NEWS

We did another transport to spay/neuter approximately 22 more cats/kittens just a couple weeks ago. Sadly, it seems the pattern continues with HOPE being contacted to take in more and more abandoned animals so as soon as a batch are set to be set to new homes, another large batch is waiting to take their spots in our shelter. We are glad to take them in, but we're definitely feeling overwhelmed this year! The only "consolation" is that we hear this is a nation-wide issue right now. Shelters & Rescues are stretched to capacity.  Remember to spay/neuter you own pets; consider volunteering at your local shelter - really anything at all you can do to help is appreciated!

May 13, 2023 was an eventful and full day at HOPE. We managed to have 26 cats and 11 dogs spayed and neutered that Saturday. The project required a lot of planning, coordinating and cooperation with staff, volunteers, foster families. It started at 3 a.m. in the morning and didn't end until about 8 p.m. that night. All animals were safely transported, surgery performed, none with complications and transported back to the shelter. A number went directly back to foster-to-adopt families, but even more left HOPE on Sunday with their brand new adopters. It was good we had some extra room at the inn because by Monday, we took in approximately 10 more dogs and puppies!
